About.

Come as you are.  Leave transformed.

Breakaway is an awesome annual Christian middle school retreat, hosted by Mike and Meg DeHaven and a team of committed youth leaders. For over a decade, the DeHavens have been passionate about the next generation and youth leaders in the tri-state area. Now, as directors at InFaith, they aim to continue nurturing young believers through this special weekend getaway.

First established in the 1990s by Church of the Savior, Breakaway was later organized by Willowdale Chapel before Meg DeHaven took over leadership in 2012. It began as a cooperative effort to provide a cost-friendly local retreat for youth groups of all sizes across the Northeast region and we strive to continue in that same vein. Breakaway offers a space for students and leaders to connect with God and each other, without church leaders needing to coordinate logistics.

This year, Breakaway 2025 takes place September 26th-28th at the scenic North Bay Adventure Camp in North East, MD, overlooking the Chesapeake Bay. Activities include a giant swing, high ropes course, paddle sports on the bay, beach volleyball, zipline, worship sessions, inspiring talks, music, games, and more. Our goal is to provide a space where students encounter God, experience joy and engage with others, so that they might return home encouraged to pursue Christ.

The $190 registration fee per participant covers lodging, meals, and programming. We require a non-refundable $30 deposit per attendee.

Join us for an incredible weekend of faith and fellowship at Breakaway 2025!

What to expect

Faith-filled Clubs

Club is a large group gathering where we join together for some fun ice-breaker games, share in an awesome worship experience, and are challenged by an engaging speaker.

Fun Free-time Activities

Saturday afternoon there is a large chunk of free time where students can enjoy a giant swing, go ziplining, climb a high ropes course, kayak in the bay, play games, go rock-climbing, hang out with friends, stop by the snack shop and more!

Time to invest in students

If you're a leader, your job is to cultivate relationships with and amongst your students! Cheer them on, talk with them, encourage them, challenge them, and just enjoy making memories and growing in faith together!
