Session 1: The Invitation To More
- What is the best event you have ever been invited to?
- Which group do you relate to the most? The busy group, the bitter group or the available group?
- What makes you busy or distracted in life?
- How do we follow God AND take care of our responsibilities in life?
- What types of circumstances can make us bitter in life?
- Can you share a time that something happened that made you bitter against God?
- How can we still trust God when life is difficult?
- What needs to change in your life so you can be available and able to accept God’s invitation to MORE?
Session 2: Do It Scared
- What is something you are afraid of?
- Have you ever missed out on an opportunity because you were afraid?
- Have you ever overcome the fear of failure? How did you do it and what was the result?
- Why do we care about what others think of us?
- Why do we believe that our value is defined by our success? Can you give examples of how we believe this lie in our lives?
- Have you ever felt less valuable because you failed? Can you share an example?
- How does Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross establish our value?
- How can you remember this truth the next time you are tempted to give in to fear?
Session 3: Grace is Greater
- Have you ever gone swimming in deep ocean? What did you think while you were out there?
- Have you ever been in a situation outside of your control? What were you thinking or feeling during that time?
- Have you ever felt like God didn’t care when you went through a storm?
- How have you seen God work in your life during a storm or on the other side of a storm?
- How do we often define ourselves by our scars?
- Have you ever felt shame about something you did and it haunted you?
- Jesus doesn’t see scars, he sees people. How does Jesus see you? What identity would he give you?
- What sins have you thought are “too great” and could keep you from Jesus?
- What should we do when we sin? How can we “return” to Jesus?
- Spend some time in prayer with your students, praying over storms, scars and sins.
Session 4: Kingdom Builders
- What is something you have built that you are most proud of?
- Have you ever felt like you had no part to play in God’s KINGDOM story?
- Have you ever felt like God was calling you to do something? If so, what. And what was your response?
- How does what we learned on Saturday morning empower us to take a risk when following God’s calling?
- Are you tempted to be like a noble, a critic or a builder?
- What distracts you from building God’s kingdom?
- How can we, as a community, build God’s kingdom together?
